A One Night Stand with Tennessee

Civic Rep presents “A ONE NIGHT STAND with Tennessee” – a celebration and fundraiser at Open Space for Arts & Community.

Civic Rep, Vashon’s new theatre company in residence at Open Space, hosts a coming out fundraiser to celebrate their inaugural season on Vashon. All are invited to lift a glass and toast the life and work of Tennessee Williams.

Enjoy live music, food and drink and performance. Experience an excerpt of Civic Rep’s production of The Two-Character Play, directed by L. Zane Jones, featuring company members Robin Jones and Sam Read. Additionally, Los Angeles writer, director and actor, Doug Tompos performs portions of his one man show about Tennessee Williams, Bent to the Flame.

Civic Rep is dedicated to the art of theatre. We are committed to the craft and practice of compelling and intimate storytelling to cultivate empathy, gain insight into our shared humanity and form deeper bonds with our community.

We envision making vital work that will contribute to the cultural life of our community – work that is accessible, relevant and engaging for all involved.

Civic Rep was founded in 2015 by Thea Cooper, Angie Harrison, L. Zane Jones, Robin Jones and Sam Read. New ensemble members include Michael Barker, Jeanne Dougherty, Tea Lee and Charlotte Tiencken and Anthony Winkler.

Past productions include A Streetcar Named Desire and The Two-Character Play (both produced at New City Theatre in 2015) and Caroline Bird’s adaptation The Trojan Women (produced at The Slate Theatre in 2017).
